Introduction
This spicy, smokey sausage with butterbean casserole is the utlimate recipe for batch cooking. Created in partnership with popular chef, Haste's Kitchen @hasteskitchen

Ingredients
  • 1 tin (400g)Butterbeans
  • 1 tin (400g)Chopped Tomatoes
  • 2Chopped onions
  • 2 tbspTomato paste
  • 4chopped and pureed garlic
  • 8Good quality sausages
  • 1 tbspolive oil
  • 1chopped apple
  • 400gboleti beans
  • 4 rasherssmoked bacon chopped
  • 3 tspsmoked paprika
  • 1 glassRed wine
  • 400mlchicken stock
  • 2bay leaves
  • 2sprigs thyme
  • 2 tbspflour
  • 1 tbspbalsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbspWorcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbspgrated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbspbrown sugar
  • 4basil leaves finely chopped
  • (Optional)chopped chives and water crest to dress the plate along with some crusty bread with salted butter
Method
  • Step 1Add olive oil to the multi cooker and the onions, sausages, thyme and bacon and cook until they are golden brown.

  • Step 2Add the tomato paste and garlic and cook for 1 minute, then add smoked paprika, hot chilli powder and flour, cooking this out for a further minute. Then add the balsamic vinegar and worcestershire sauce.
  • Step 3Add the apple and red wine, then add the stock, chopped tomatoes, sugar, beans, parmesan and chopped basil. Cook for 30 minutes until the sauce has thickened.
